The Chakra System

The Chakra System is spreading across the world. It is something we all need to know about. So many questions are asked. Why do we get unwell? Why do we get diseases? Unexplained illnesses? The Mystic Wolf can help answer these questions. Keep on reading todays blog to find out more.

What is Our Chakra System?

"Chakra" is a Sanskirt word meaning "wheel". The chakra system is shown to us either as a lotus or wheel shape. They are spinning energies which exist in our spiritual form and is the non-material energetic counterpart in our physical body. We have seven main Chakras. The Root Chakra, Sacral, Solar Plexus, Heart, Throat, Third Eye and the Crown Chakra. We have hundreds more located throughout our bodies but the seven main chakras mentions above are more well known.

The openness and flow of energy through our chakras will determine the state of our health and balance. Knowledge of our more subtle energy system empowers you to maintain balance and harmony on the physical, mental and spiritual level. Meditation, Yoga, Reiki and Chakra Healing systems seek to balance out the energy of the chakras by purifying and healing the lower energies guiding them out of our bodies. In order for us to become fully self realised and in harmony with our physical and spiritual nature our denser lower energies need to be harmonised with the lighter energies of the upper centers.

1) Root Chakra - Muladhara

This is the first of the chakras of matter. Balancing the root chakra creates the solid foundation for opening the chakras above. The root chakra is comprised of whatever grounds you to stability in your life. This includes your basic needs such as food, water, shelter, and safety, as well as your more emotional needs such as letting go of fear. When these needs are met you feel grounded, safe and you tend to worry less day to day. Whether or not you feel secure now often has less to do with what you have at your disposal and more to do with how safe you felt as a small child.

What if my Root Chakra is blocked or unbalanced?
If there is an imbalance or blockage in the root chakra you may experience anxiety disorders, fears, or nightmares. Physical imbalances may manifest as problems in the colon, with the bladder, with elimination, or with lower back, leg, or feet issues. In men, prostate problems may occur. Eating disorders may also be a sign of a root chakra imbalance.

2) Sacral Chakra - Svadhisthana

Is the second chakra this chakra is known as the sexual and creativity chakra. The word Svadhisthana can be translated as “the dwelling place of the self” and the element of the second chakra is water, which equals cohesiveness. A balanced second chakra leads to feelings of wellness, abundance, pleasure and joy. When this chakra is out of balance, a person may experience emotional instability, fear of change, sexual dysfunction, depression or addictions. Creativity is a big part of this chakra, we use this chakra for daily tasks like cooking, gardening, making music, dancing and playing. These are all creative things we do that brings out our inner child.

What if my Sacral Chakra is blocked or unbalanced?
Besides being open to creativity in your daily life you can balance the second chakra by maintaining a healthy sexual life and honouring and respecting your body. Get in touch with your emotions and see if there are any feelings you are holding onto. Make a commitment to process those emotions in a healthy way.

3) Solar Plexus - Manipura

Manipura is a source of personal power and governs self-esteem, strong energy and the power of transformation. The Manipura chakra also controls metabolism and digestion.

When you feel self-confident, have a strong sense of purpose and are self-motivated, your third chakra is open and healthy. If your third chakra is out of balance you can suffer from low self-esteem, have difficulty making decisions and may have anger or control issues. When you have clear goals, desires, and intentions you can move forward to achieving them. Each small step you take while honouring the larger intention helps to strengthen your third chakra.

What if my Solar Plexus Chakra is blocked or unbalanced?
As this Chakra represents the digestive system make sure you are leading a healthy and balanced diet with plenty of water (avoid tap water). Meditation and connecting with your inner self? Why do you feel blocked? What situation is causing your chakras to block? Are you stressed? Recognising the issue with your chakras will help removing the blockages.

4) Heart Chakra - Anahata

The fourth chakra is the area where physical and spiritual meet. This chakra is known to be the heart chakra, it is located at the centre of the chest area and includes the heart, cardiac plexus, thymus gland, lungs and breasts. It also rules the lymphatic system. The Sanskrit word is Anahata which means “unstruck” or “unhurt.” The name implies that beneath the hurts and grievances of past experiences lies a pure and spiritual place where no hurt exists.

When your heart chakra is open you are flowing with love and compassion, you are quick to forgive and you accept others and yourself. A closed heart chakra can give way to grief, anger, jealousy, fear of betrayal and hatred toward yourself and others.

What if my Heart Chakra is blocked or unbalanced?
The first and most important thing is to love yourself. How can you give love if you are not loving yourself? Once you have balanced your heart chakra all jealousy, anger and negative energies will disappear from your life. Learn to accept, forgive and move forward with your life. Love to give and receive will flow through once completed.

5) Throat Chakra - Vishudda

Our Vishudda is our communication chakra. The throat chakra controls the area of jaw, neck, tongue, mouth, thyroid, larnyx and parathyroid. To keep this chakra open and balanced you must express yourself, be open and truthful. Blockages in this chakra can cause thyroids and other personal issues to flair up due to this chakra being unbalanced.

What if my Throat Chakra is blocked or unbalanced?
Working on all of your lower chakras and balancing them will help flow your throat chakra. When you align the Root and Sacral chakra this helps your anxiety, worries and fears. Aligning your solar plexus and heart chakra helps you feel strength, personal power and true emotions coming from your heart chakra.

6) Third Eye Chakra - Ajna

Known as our intuition or sixth sense chakra, Ajna is in the area of the third eye, Also known as The Eye of Horus. The ancient Egyptians worshiped the eye of Horus (pineal gland). This is situated in between the eyebrows. An invisible yet powerful third eye, this is your center of intuition. A spiritual chakra which means “beyond wisdom,” Ajna leads you to an inner knowledge that will guide you if you let it. An open sixth chakra can enable clairvoyance, telepathy, lucid dreaming, expanded imagination and visualisation. You can tap into your third eye chakra by meditating, going to workshops and listening to your intuition. When people say 'always trust your instinct' believe in your instinct and you will be guided with the right path for you.

What if my Third Eye Chakra is blocked or unbalanced?

This is best balanced through meditation. Often, new meditators will report having a tingling feeling in the third eye or a dense feeling in between your brow. A tingling or pulsating sensation around the area of the third eye during or after meditation is a sign that you are opening this blocked chakra. Avoid drinking tap water and toothpaste that contain fluoride as this is what blocks our psychic abilities. Slightly staring away from the sun also helps charge our third eye and open the chakra.

7) Crown Chakra - Sahaswara

Sahaswara is the last chakra of the chakra system. It is our source of enlightenment and spiritual connection. The crown chakra connects to our higher selves, to every being on the planet and ultimately the divine energy that creates everything in the universe. Once you have opened your Crown chakra this means that you are fully Conscious, woke and you will feel like you have the realisation of this.

What if my Crown Chakra is blocked or unbalanced?
Daily practise of meditation and spiritual work will help unblock your chakra. You will notice a progression of spiritual awareness. You will begin to experience unconditional love, become more compassionate, forgiving and you will show more humility around you.

The world of spirituality can be a lot to take in and you will find that you are forever learning and discovering new things. Our chakra system is so important to our lives, 24/7 it needs to be acknowledged and put to use. A lot of people may feel like they feel unbalanced or unwell in certain chakras or part of their bodies. Maybe they feel unbalanced in all chakras. Being able to feel peaceful, happy, grounded and balanced is very important in our daily lives. Meditation, Yoga or even a Reiki/Chakra Healing Session can help release any blockages through your system. These natural healing remedies will help you with your other chakras in the body. For example we have chakras in our hands, feet, the back of our head, legs and much more. Our chakra system expands out of our aura field below the earth and above the earth (into the universe).
